DeeDay -1: Cape Jervis - Wednesday 6 May 2014

Up early I went for a 6km run before we started a hectic packing session trying to seperate kit that we would carry and kit that Belinda would bring to us when she visited. We... being me.... was shocked at how heavy my pack still was! Anyway after getting rid of absolutely everything I/we would not need we packed Belinda's little car and with Dee's pack on my legs on the back seat we headed for Cape Jervis.

However we did stop off at a shopping centre on the way, had lunch and..... most importantly got a dongle.... whatever that is, (I wondered why Dee wanted a dongle... and even more shocked that they sold them in shopping malls in Aus) I did learn that it helps us get this across alot quicker and am sure all of you are pleased about that. Well guess what me to!

It was not a long trip to Cape Jervis, our starting point, and we were soon at the end of the road at the little room...ish thing we hired for the night. Getting out the car was a bit of a shock when the cold caught us....... Chilly..... Belinda was really worried about leaving her Mum (possibly because it's with Jeff and I) however I think it has to do with the 1200km ahead of her. Once B had left it was off down the road to find the start of the Heysen before the sun went down.

We found the ferry and the start, after having to search for my micro sd card that ejected from my camera, thank you Dee, took the photos over the Southern Ocean and Kangaroo Island. We found the pub, tested Carlton Draft, had a feed and now back at the bungalow.

Tomorrow is going to be an early start so it's off to bye bye early.

  1. Anyone carrying folding chairs can't be serious. And where are your camels? No one in Australia treks without camels.
