DeeDay -2: Monday 5 May 2014

Eventually got through to the Customs people this morning and all looks good for a 4 day visa extension for me. Well put it this way if Dee and Jeff behave I should be OK to stay the 4 extra days. Holds thumbs....

Another day spent shoping but this time mostly for food, should have enough for the whole walk even though we were only shopping for the first 5 days. Kinda going big for the first 5 days as we recon that after this will be making do with what we can get.

The route and time planning went well and if all goes well we should have about 6 days after the walk before e have to head over to Sydney. I am just a bit worried about how strenous the walk will be through the Barossa Wine Valley so that might slow us down a bit. Lots of hills there I heard......

Jeff and I checked tents yesterday to see that all is good and get familiar with them again. All good so no worries mate. While there we had 3 Laughing Kookaburra's, 2 Magpie's and a New England Honeyeater eating fom the neighbours feeding tray. Jeff was taken aback by the size of the Kookoburra's and astounded that they are Kingfishers......... Can't wait to get stuck into some real birding on the walk.

Belinda (Dee's daughter and Nick her boyfriend) are here this evening cooking us dinner which is great. Jeff got to see family who works at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and I am drinking a Hahn SuperDry (not Black Label but when in Rome).
