Awesome morning.... yeah lots of moans and groans from Jeff's side of the hut but once we could see where we were, WOW! This has deffinetly been the best hut we have slept in since starting the walk and when checking the door, we saw it had five stars stuck above it.
Feet were sore, I wont lie, and it was a very wobbly start until the blisters had warmed up and we could walk as if we didn't have a carrot stuck up...... mmmmm....... probably should not say anymore.....
We clambered down the mountain onto the Peters Hill road and started heading towards the town of Marrabel. We stopped at a road junction for me to take off a layer, and Jeff to check his feet, when Dee arrived. What a pleasure to see this Gaz come down the road! Not only did she bring Jeff's shoes and my new boots, but she also brougt a box full of chocolate cup cakes made for us by Belinda. Those got hoovered..........!
We changed shoes, put our bags in the car, and much to Dee's suprise walked the 6km into Marrabel town. The hotel doors opened as we arrived, so 3 coffee's were ordered and 5 toasties...... Just before heading to check a spot Dee had found for us to camp, a gent walked into the pub, and made an order. The barman turned and said "oh hi Tiny" ...... I turned round and the guy leaning over the bar must have been about 7 foot tall, and not small.
We DROVE to the possible camping spot, agreed and drove back to the pub. A quick kit sorting and Dee was heading back to Adelaide leaving us to move into the pub.... Yip it was tough but we made it.
Just finishing dinner and heading to another campsite recommended to us in the rodeo arena. Yeeehhhhhaaaaaaa...... Marrabel is where Australia have there annual national rodeo every year. Amazing when you think we have not seen anything but sheep in the last 10 days......
